Country Kitchen at Byards Leap
Byards Leap Country Kitchen has existed for over 100 years, believed to be the
site on which the hut sat where Old Meg the witch lived. Although the Country
Kitchen has kept its outward appearance, over the years, many changes have been
made to the internal rooms, and, of course, the kitchen is now all stainless
steel with modern appliances.
The two sets of giant horseshoes, dropped by the legendary horse Bayard when he
made those famous leaps, are just opposite, giving the hamlet its shortened name
of Byards Leap.
Breakfast
Room rates are inclusive of full breakfast, which includes, cooked
variety and / or the full continental selection (you can have both if you wish)
Most people go for the cereals fresh fruit, grapefruit, prunes etc. AND then go
on to have a cooked menu.
Menu
Today we serve a large variety of locally-sourced produce; rallies of all kinds
turn up with great regularity to sample our hearty choice of breakfasts,
starting from as little as £3.75, rising to £5.75 for the 'full works'.
Sunday Roasts
Sundays are the days of good roasts - please remember to book - with a starting
price of £5.85 for the main course and about £2.50 for a dessert. Bring a big
appetite with you, our meals are very filling - few people have three courses!
