Byards Leap

Since the late 1800s Byards Leap has welcomed many visitors, both to our Country Kitchen and to visit the home of the famous legend of Bayard and Old Meg. As you arrive you can almost feel the atmosphere of those times, especially when you gaze upon the horseshoes of the horse who is said to have worn them (they are big).

Breakfast & Lunch

When you return from your day exploring the Lincolnshire countryside, or from your business meeting, why not visit our our Country Kitchen offering a range of food and drinks. Please enquire at reception for opening times and menu.

Byards Leap is a friendly and welcoming establishment and is right next door to the Viking Way and long-distance footpath. We are en-route for the East and Norfolk Coastlines, but still have our very own local attractions for all types of activities:

Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre - just a few minutes' drive away is this exciting collection of exhibitions, including photographs and archive film, which detail the fascinating history of the nearby RAF base.

Heart of Lincs - In North Kesteven you will find attractions to suit every interest and places to eat to suit every taste. (As per their website)  The Viking Way - an 130-mile footpath, extending from the Humber Bridge to Oakham in Leicestershire, a stroll on which provides the perfect excuse to indulge in our Country Kitchen!

The Hub - Sleaford's new multimillion-pound arts and crafts centre, featuring exhibitions, workshops, gift shop and café.

Woodland Waters - four individual fishing lakes: match lake stocked with mixed varieties, specimen lake, and two smaller lakes, popular with pleasure anglers.
